The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has disclosed that an employee who is no longer with the agency sent confidential details for hundreds of thousands of consumers to their personal email account. So reports NBC News.
The person also sent themselves records relating to a number of financial institutions, according to the agency, which did not identify the person or the institutions.
A CFPB representative called the former employee’s actions “completely unacceptable.”
