Commercial Mortgage Servicer Wants to Move Upstate N.Y. HQ

Arbor Multifamily Lending is asking local officials in upstate New York for sales tax breaks as it plans to move its loan-servicing division. So reports The Buffalo News.

Arbor Realty TrustOne of the biggest U.S. originators and servicers of commercial mortgages, the Arbor Realty Trust unit has long been based in Depew, N.Y. but has been preparing to shift its loan-servicing and asset-management staff to nearby Tonawanda.

Arbor has a head count of 168 at the current location and has vowed to bring on 25 more employees within two years, at a $70,000 average salary.
