Mortgage Rates Edge Down Ahead of Ukraine Invasion

U.S. long-term mortgage rates saw a slight dip in the week leading up to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. So reports ABC News.

arrow down icon 157360 1280According to Freddie Mac, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.89% in the week ending February 24, down three basis points from the previous week.

The decline came despite the Federal Reserve’s recent indications that it would begin raising interest rates, and a report from the Department of Labor showing the sharpest annual rise in consumer inflation since 1982.
