Home Point Settles IPO Class Action for $5M

Home Point has agreed to cough up $5 million to settle investors’ proposed class action lawsuit claiming the wholesale mortgage lender made inflated claims ahead of its initial public offering in January 2021. That’s according to Stanford Law School’s Securities Action Clearinghouse and Law360.

Homepoint2 150x150The settlement is contingent on a judge’s approval and applies to investors who bought shares of Home Point Capital between its IPO and June 21, 2021.

According to the agreement, Home Point and its management deny the allegations and "maintain that their conduct was at all times proper and in compliance with all applicable laws.”
