Man Arrested for Mortgage Scam That Cost Woman Her Home

A Maryland man has been arrested for mortgage fraud that allegedly caused a Maryland woman to lose her home. So reports The Washington Post.

William Wayland was initially released on his own recognizance after being indicted by a grand jury on multiple counts last December. A judge issued the warrant for Wayland’s arrest after determining he might try to swindle other seniors.

Wayland allegedly bilked Patricia Duckett, a long-time school aide, out of more than $7,000. His trial is set for February 24.
