Mortgage Rates Hold Near Lows Amid Market Turbulence

The recent turmoil in the financial markets did not extend to mortgage rates, which leveled off. So reports MarketWatch.

According to the latest Freddie Mac data, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.6% for the week ending August 15. That’s the same as the prior week and still the lowest since early November 2016.

The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage was 3.07%, up from 3.05% a week earlier, Freddie Mac said.
