Northwestern University’s Bluhm Legal Clinic has filed a civil lawsuit on behalf of 45 homeowners, trying to void reverse mortgages that were allegedly fraudulently procured by Chicago mortgage originator Mark Diamond. So reports CBS 2 Chicago.

“Mark Diamond and his co-schemers targeted elderly Black homeowners, on primarily the West Side of Chicago,” said Northwestern law professor Juliet Sorensen.
Diamond already faces federal criminal charges of defrauding 120 homeowners through the reverse mortgage scheme and reaping millions.
