Short-Sale Mortgage Scheme Nets Two-Year Prison Sentence

A man has been sentenced to two years in prison for bank fraud and conspiracy to commit bank fraud in connection with a real estate short-sale scheme, according to federal authorities. So reports local news site RiverBender.com.

“The defendant’s repeated acts of fraud over several years caused lending institutions to lose a significant amount of money," acting U.S. Attorney Doug Quivey said in a statement.
