Mortgage Rates Dip for Second Straight Week

U.S. long-term mortgage rates have declined for two consecutive weeks after hitting a 22-year high in October. So reports the Associated Press.

arrow 98577 1280According to Freddie Mac, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rate averaged 7.50% as of November 9, down from 7.76% the week before and 7.08% a year earlier.

The decline was in tandem with a drop in the 10-year Treasury yield, as bond traders responded to the Federal Reserve’s decision to hold rates steady for a second policy meeting in a row.
