CFPB to Revamp Consumer Complaints Database

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has unveiled long-awaited changes to its consumer complaint database. So reports Reuters.

While the database will remain public, the CFPB will add disclaimers and updates that would help consumers contact the companies involved for specific answers, the agency said on September 18.

The CFPB two years ago began a review of the database, which the agency uses to generate probes, but financial firms have objected to being publicly named and say published complaints ought to be confirmed first.
